Abstract
The preoccupation with conditioned or generalized reinforcing properties of stimuli used as tokens in applied settings has resulted in a costly neglect of the discriminative (S D ) properties of token stimuli. Published data suggest a discriminative stimulus model using Mechner's notation for more carefully establishing discriminative functions of stimuli in token economics and for employing them more efficiently.
