Abstract

A patient with a sternoclavicular syndrome is presented. The pain and restriction of movement associated with hyperostosis in the sternoclavicular joint was treated with excision of the medial end of the clavicle with a prosthetic replacement using a radial head prosthesis. The patient recovered well from the procedure and regained full use of his arm. This is an illustration of a new technique to manage an unusual problem.
