Abstract
A field experiment was conducted during the rabi seasons of 2006-07 and 2007-08 at cropping system Research Project, R B S College, Bichpuri, Agra. The treatments were four nitrogen levels, (0, 50, 100 and 150 kg ha -1 ) four phosphorus levels (0, 25, 50 and 75 kg ha -1 ) and two Zinc levels (0 and 5 kg ha -1 ). The results revealed that the grain and straw yield significantly higher in higher doses of N, P and Zinc application. On pooled basis, 150 kg N ha -1 applications resulted in 7.6, 16.4 and 21.7% more grain yield of wheat over 100, 50 and 0 kg N ha -1 . The application of phosphorus 50 kg ha -1 showed 6.4 and 7.5% more grain yield over its lower doses of phosphorus. The application of Zn 5 kg ha -1 accrued 8.7% more grain yield over no zinc. The protein production kg ha -1 was significantly higher in 150 kg N ha -1 over 100, 50 and 0 kg N ha -1 . The application P upto 75 kg Zn ha -1 increases the 18.1% more protein the 0 kg ha -1 . The uptake and total uptake of N,P and K by wheat crops were significantly higher in 150 kg N ha -1 , 75 kg P ha -1 and 5 kg zn ha -1 .
