Abstract

This article reports on the efforts of the Utah Transit Authority (UTA) to continually improve on service frequency and connections within its rail network. UTA recently added 70 miles to an existing 64-mile rail network under its FrontLines 2015 program, completing the project ahead of schedule and under budget. The author details UTA's increasing ridership and its record for on-time performance as well as new transit-oriented development projects and integrated fare structure for riders. Also highlighted is UTA's hosting of rail transport industry conferences and the rewards and recognitions that UTA has received in recent years.
