Abstract
This paper aims to display the geographical distribution and to study the geographical differentiation of the color adjectives. The dialectal forms of the color adjectives are classified into four types; norah-〈typeⅠ〉, nolha-〈typeⅡ〉, noranha-〈typeⅢ〉, and noraŋha-〈typeⅣ〉. And the distribution of them is as follows; typeⅠ: elsewhere, typeⅡ: Pyeongan and Jeolla, typeⅢ: south Chungnam and north Jeonbuk, and typeⅣ: Jeju. TypeⅠ?Ⅱ are differentiated from typeⅢ?Ⅳ by their commom preforms. As it were, the common preforms of typeⅠ?Ⅱ and typeⅢ?Ⅳ are, respectively, ‘Xa/?h?-’ and ‘Xaŋ/?ŋh?-’. TypeⅡ is sub-differentiated from typeⅠby means of analogical restructuring of stems. And typeⅢ is sub-differentiated from typeⅣ by means of ‘ŋ>n’ change.
