Abstract

This participants‘ kit comprises short summaries of the background materials of the training course on Harmonisation, Decentralisation and Local Governance, which has been designed for the informal Donor Partners Working Group on Local Governance and Decentralisation. The participants‘ kit has been prepared to give participants an overview of the state-of-the-art knowledge on harmonisation, decentralisation and local governance. Among other things, it includes case studies that are based on the work of the various partners of the DPWG-LGD and the guiding principles that have been defined in this group.
