Abstract

The construction of a 200-liter bubble chamber that uses a mixture of freon-12 and freon-13 in the weight ratio of 2: 3 was described. The stopping of particles with ranges up to 80 cnn can be observed in the chamber, corresponding to 360-Mev protons, 280-Mev mesons (K) or 200-Mev mesons ( pi ). The maximum efficiency of gamma detection in the chamber was 0.87. The chamber operates at room temperatures and can be used with mixtures of propane with ethane, xenon with propane, and other liquids. (tr-auth)
