Abstract
Many readers may consider contagious bovine pleuropneumonia (CBPP) or lung sickness to be an exotic or historical disease, which has long been eradicated from Britain and Europe. Older readers may have seen CBPP during secondments to Africa in the 1980s, when the disease was largely under control.
