Abstract
When tire slips are given to a car in driving, tire forces are generated between tire tread and ground. At the same time, the heat is generated on tire tread surface and then tire forces are changed because of tire temperature. Some car makers or tire manufacturers are investigating between tire temperature and tire forces with indoor or outdoor test for the improvement of the prediction of generating tire forces. In this paper, it is suggested that three heat transfer equations are considered tire surface temperature: the heat generation by friction between tire tread surface and ground, the cooling by contact between tire tread surface and ground, the convection out of tire tread surface. Using this thermal equation, it is predicted that the surface temperature of tire tread and tire forces are given to various driving condition. And it is verified the thermal equation comparing tire test results with simulations.
