Abstract

It is anticipated that the current telecommunications market will change in a dramatic fashion during the years to come. The change will be mostly towards the incorporation of new technologies as defined by the current and future Internet, by broadband systems and by wireless technologies. These changes will lead to a total restructure of the whole market. This paper lists current trends in telecommunications and their impacts on the market are analyzed. Forecasts for the developments of the Internet, broadband communication systems and wireless communications are given.
