Abstract

This thesis aims for manifesting the characteristics of syllable sequence in word. I analysed the distribution of syllable forms statistically at each syllable position with subject of Korean simple word. It is CV, V, CVC, VC, that is possible syllabe forms at surface in Korean. These four syllable forms is divided broadly into two catogories, open syllabel and closed syllable. A word is composed of sequence of syllable. Each syllable forms is showed a difference of distributions according to the order in which syllable is arranged. This is appeared to following tendency. The open syllable of CV is prefered at first position, but is appeared to less distribution at final position. On the other hand, closed syllable of CVC is the most distribution at final syllable. Open syllable is explosive sound, and closed syllable is implosive. Then word initial prefers to open syllable that is explosive sond, and word final prefers to closed syllabel that is implosive.
