Abstract

Summary form only given. Central to the future growth of the market for diode-pumped solid state lasers is the evolution of prices for high-quality, long-lived diode lasers and arrays used as pumps. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the relationship between lifetime, performance, volume and prices and the conditions needed for achievement of still lower prices.>
