Abstract

White mold caused by Cylindrocladium in Jatropha curcas cause serious damage in northern parts of Karnataka. In in-vitro, among seven fungicides, mancozeb, penconazole and tridemorph proved efficient to show cent per cent mycelial growth inhibition of C. Jatrophae at both 500 and 1000ppm. Least inhibition was by carbendazim (26.29%) and sulphur (41.84%). Fresh leaf extract of Lantana camera expressed maximum growth inhibition (82.54 and 91.72%) followed by Prosopis juliflora (45.56 and 50.80%) at 5% and 10% concentrations respectively. Where as out of 5 bio-agents, Trichoderma harzianum was most efficient in inhibiting the growth (95.83%) followed by Bacillus subtilis (91.27%) over control.
