Abstract

We report the results of a study of the production of ..pi../sup + -/, K/sup + -/, p, and p-bar with transverse momenta in the range from 0.5 to 2.2 GeV/c in pd collisions at proton energy 70 GeV at a c.m.s. angle 90 /sup 0/. The ratios of the particle yields in deuterium are compared with the ratios in hydrogen and in nuclei and with a calculation according to the quantum-chromodynamical parton model.
