Abstract
Abstract Specific, high titered antisera to human (C-87 and AD-169) and simian (GR-2757) cytomegaloviruses were prepared in guinea pigs and used in complement fixation (CF) and immunofluorescence (IF) tests. There were no detectable cellular antibodies in the antisera. Both the CF and the IF tests revealed that the two human strains are closely related or identical and have little if any interspecies cross-reactivity with the simian strain.
