Abstract

Dose-related decrease was noted in intracellular activities of acid phosphatase, ..beta..-glucuronidase, and lysozyme of macrophages lavaged from rabbits exposed to 0.25 to 7.0 ppM O/sub 3/ for 3 hours. Enzyme levels returned to near-normal 24 hour post-exposure. Lysozyme was reduced most; ..beta..-glucuronidase, least. Lysosomal fraction lost activity while supernatant gained, indicating some effect on membranes.
