Abstract

The soil temperature and air temperature and humidity changes in a greenhouse during cucumber cultivation in autumn and winter were studied. The results indicated that the soil and air temperatures varied least in the south of greenhouse(where cucumber grew relatively well) while comparatively greatly in the central part. The temperature and humidity were various in the different parts of greenhouse and changed with time. The direct factors that led the cucumber plants in the north of greenhouse to die were that the air temperature was below 0 ℃ for long time(9 h) and the soil temperature below 10 ℃ quite long(8.5 h).The daily duration for the air in greenhouse to be at saturated humidity gradually increased with the passage of time, and the air humidity of greenhouse was the greatest in the central part, next in the north, and the least in the south.
