Abstract
The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive Command is engaged in a program to provide the combustion system technology needed for an orderly transition from existing specification fuels to liquid hydrocarbon alternative fuels in its ground vehicle fleet. This presentation will provide an overview of the program objective and a status report of the key technologies being explored to achieve alternative fuels capability. Possible strategies for application of engines with alternative fuels capability to the Army fleet will be discussed. The status of ongoing technology base program activities will also be discussed, which include demonstration and exploratory developments of alternative fuel combustion systems, electronic fuel injection systems, sensors and engine/fuel compatibility tests.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Limitations are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Application details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
