Abstract

The physiology of moulting in the Indian white prawn \nPenaeus indicus has been investigated by comprehensive \napproach to the problem. The major aspects of the study \ninclude, Detailed classification of the moult cycle, \nNeuroendocrine control of moulting process, Variations in \nthe biochemical constituents in relation to moult cycle, \nDistribution and mobilization of important minerals during \nmoulting cycle, and Role of important environmental \nfactors over moult cycle of the prawn.
