Abstract
Zagarella asks whether risks of venous thromboembolism may be different in women with potential symptoms of polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), such as acne and hirsutism, but without a formal diagnosis.1 2 Menstrual disorders and acne were recorded for a large proportion of cases and controls across the databases—23-36% for menstrual disorders and 9-13% for acne—and 1-2% had hirsutism recorded.
