Abstract

This edited report analyzes the potential effects of a Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA) on U.S. agriculture. It describes the effects on U.S. agriculture of the trade liberalization that has already occurred in the Western Hemisphere. It explains the implications of advancing to a FTAA for U.S. agricultural trade, production, agri-environment, and foreign direct investment. The report also discusses market access and sanitary and phytosanitary topics related to the FTAA.
