Abstract

Studies on the efficacy of certain insecticide mixtures viz., Spark 0.1%, Polytrin 0.07%, Lethal super 0.09%, Viraat 0.01%, Caldan + Dimilin 0.01% and their constituent insecticides against shoot and fruit borer of brinjal, Leucinodes orbonalis and fruit yield carried at Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University, Hyderabad revealed that the insecticide mixture Spark (deltamethrin + traizophos) 0.1% was most effective and significantly superior over other treatments in controlling shoot and fruit borer of brinjal. Cartap hydrochloride + diflubenzuron mixture 0.075% and diflubenzuron 0.025% were found to be next best treatments in order of efficacy and the former recorded highest mean marketable fruit yield, followed by spark 0.1%.
