Abstract
As a direct consequence of wet weather, unwanted inflow and infiltration enter into the Sydney sewer system causing overloading and subsequent overflowing. This paper outlines the development and implementation of a strategy for the measurement of sewerage flows at key locations in the sewer system in order to locate the areas of highest inflow and infiltration, enabling remedial work on those areas to be subsequently carried out resulting in the most cost effective way of significantly reducing overflows from the system.
