Abstract
ABSTRACT The latest Paleozoic sediments covering the man of the Peace River Arch filled up the hollows, buried the fault scarps, and left a gently undulating plain that has hidden most clues to the former presence of the Arch After the Paleozoic the seas withdrow and the Age of Reptiles began. The forces that caused the collapse of the Arch in Paleozoic time remained active, but were more moderate and subdued during the Paleozoic. The Peace River Arch area, which was negative in the Mississippian, continued to subside during the Triassic, Jurassic, and Lower Cretaceous periods. The same old faults were still slightly active, but they caused little displacement within the Mesozoic strata. Slight movement along former Paleozoic faults was accompanied by fracturing and warping of the overlying sediments. End_Page 74-------------------------
