Abstract

Discusses the synthesis of cable-supported bridges from concept through design. Presents simple analytical methods that supplement the synthesis to quantify the different structural forms. Analytical methods illustrate the behavior of structural elements. Examines some loading conditions and the main action of the load-carrying system.
