Abstract

This article provides an analysis of the current conditions of bridges in the United States, examples of bridge failures and maintenance deficiencies, and a synopsis of personal injury remedies and defenses available to injured parties as a result of bridge failures. Specifically, the I-35W Minneapolis, Minnesota Bridge collapse that occurred on August 1, 2007 is examined as a case study.
