Abstract

Abstract This unit provides several methods for one‐dimensional gel electrophoresis of proteins. The basic protocol is the standard method used for gel electrophoresis under denaturing conditions. The first alternate protocol provides conditions used for nondenaturing gel electrophoresis. Gradient gels are described and resolve a much wider molecular‐weight range of proteins on a single gel. Minigels, both single‐concentration and gradient, are also described.
