Abstract

The constitution diagrams of the sections Bi/sub 2/Te/sub 3/-La, Bi/sub 2/Te/sub 3/-La/sub 4/Bi/sub 3/, LaTe-La/sub 4/Bi/sub 3/ and La/sub 4/Bi/sub 3/-Te were studied by the methods of physicochemical analysis. The projection of the liquidus surface of the ternary system La-Bi-Te was constructed. It was established that one incongruently melting compound with the composition LaBiTe/sub 3/ forms in the system. The reactions accompanying crystallization of alloys of the ternary system were determined.
