Abstract
In 51 coffee-plantations of the M’Bomou region in the Republic of Central Africa plant- and soil-analyses were done in 1983 in order to investigate the minimum- factors in mineral nutrition and interactions between mineral nutrition and soil- and management-factors. The following results were obtained: 1. The plant analyses of younger coffee-leaves showed that (compared with critical values from literature) all of the plants were insufficient supplied with zinc, 40 - 50 % with nitrogen, phosphorous, calcium and iron and 20 - 30 % with potassium and magnesium The molybdenum-supply also may be not sufficient in all cases. No deficiencies could be detected in the nutrition with sulfur, manganese, copper and boron 2. An abnormal ratio of zinc:copper of 1:2,6 (normal = 5: 1) was detected in the coffee- leaves. 3. Between the results of soil- and plant-analyses were no significant correlations. 4. Weeding with dicotyle plants results in significant higher nitrogen-, sulphur- and magnesium concentrations in the coffee-leafs. Lower nutrient-concentrations due to nutrient-competition of weeds could not be detected.
