Abstract

This book contains the thirty papers presented at the third Highway Safety Specialty Conference sponsored by the Committee on Traffic and Safety of the Highway Division of the American Society of Civil Engineers. The following topics are addressed: Improving safety on older highways; evaluation of highway safety improvements; risk management and tort liability; pedestrian safety; economic analysis of highway safety projects; safety and design standards; and advances on safety appurtenance performance.
