Abstract
The population dynamics of main insects and their natural enemies in transgenic insect-resistant cotton fields in Sichuan province,PRC were systematically studied. The results showed that lepidopterous pests, such as boll worm(Helicoverpa armigera Hubner)and pink worm(Pectinophora gossypiella Saunders)were controlled effectively by transgenic cotton and kept at low population. No impact on the population of cotton aphid(Aphis gossypii Giover)and spider mites(Tetranychus cinnatarinus Boisduval)was recorded, but the number of stink bugsin(Lygus lucorum)transgenic cotton field was higher than that of traditional cotton field.
