Abstract

The problem of steady two-dimensional free surface potential flow of incompressible fluid emerging from a slot of container of infinite long is considered. The fluid is assumed to be inviscid and the flow is irrota-tional. The problem, which is characterized by the nonlinear boundary condition on the free surface of unknown equation, is solved numerically by series truncation. We computed solutions for arbitrary length of the vertical wall of the container and various values of the Weber numbers. Our problem is an extension of the work done by Gasmi and Mekias[1].
