Abstract
This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (Intervention). The objectives are as follows: To determine which NNRTI, EFV or NVP, is associated with greater virological suppression when given in combination with two NRTIs as part of initial antiretroviral combination therapy in HIV‐infected ART‐naïve adults. EFV‐containing and NVP‐containing triple‐drug regimens will be compared with regards to therapeutic efficacy, using plasma HIV RNA concentration as a surrogate marker for clinical progression.
