Abstract
Shared Space is an interface concept for intuitive three dimensional computer supported collaborative work (CSCW) which combines Augmented Reality (see-through Virtual Reality) techniques with traditional CSCW principles. Shared Space allows users to see each other at the same time as three dimensional virtual images superimposed on the real world. This facilitates a high bandwidth of communication between users as well as intuitive 3D manipulation of the virtual images. We present an application of the Shared Space concept that demonstrates collaborative wet browsing and personal information spaces.
