Abstract
[Objective] To know calcium nutritional knowledge, attitude and practice of medical students and their relations.[Methods] An investigation of calcium nutritional knowledge, attitude and practice(KAP) was carried out by the method of questionnaire among 818 medical students.[Results] The study showed that the students investigated lacked the nutrition knowledge about calcium, both in depth and in width(Average score of knowledge was 55.0±8.0).The higher the grade, the better the students’ record was found. The average score of the female was higher than that of the male.Students’ knowledge in nutrition and their choices of calcium supplementation were significantly different. They held a positive attitude towards nutrition, and desired to acquire more knowledge of calcium nutrition and health. The intakes of legume food in medical students were adequate.[Conclusion] It is suggested that nutrition education activities should be implemented to make the students know more calcium nutritional knowledge.
