Research as Ideology. Ideological Traps, Epistemological Principles and the Practice of Research

This article intends to contribute to a theory of sociological thought and raises the question to what degree such a theory can be considered in ordinary research operations. In order to understand ideological obstacles to this theory, major epistemological foundations of classical social theory are presented in the first part. The second part asks how far those principles accompany the researcher's practice understood as included in specific social relationships for itself. Do the special circumstances under which social research is normally effected correspond with the logic of sociological thought or must we regard both as contradictory?
