Regional Governance as a Way to Integrate Land Use and Transport Planning: Synthesis Report

The report synthesises the findings of a research project on the relationship between regional governance and an integrated land use and transport policy. It compares the three city regions Kristiansand, Funen and Hanover which organize land use and transport planning in different ways. The report describes the three cases goals and achievements within land use and transport policy, and discusses reasons for the different degrees of goal achievement. The conclusion is that a stronger regional level may contribute to reducing the gap between national goals and local implementation of an integrated land use and transport policy.
