As the demand for water in Hardee and De Soto Counties increases, additional information about the aquifers is needed to manage and develop the water supply effectively.The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD), conducted a study from 1987 to 1990 to evaluate the effects of increased citrus irrigation on the ground-water resources of Hardee and De Soto Counties.The results of the study are summarized in this renort.
