Abstract
Participatory rural appraisal is introduced and explained. PRA is an extended process of appraisal and analysis that can lead to local action by a community or group. The way in which PRA is carried out is detailed and its relevance for agricultural research is considered. An example of the use of PRA in 13 villages in Nepal is cited.
