Abstract

The aim of this paper is to present a consolidated account of the information so far available both from the published and unpublished reports of different scientific workers on the periodical occurrence of the young stages of the mackerel, Rastrelliger kanagurta from \nthe Indian inshore waters with a view to emphasising the importance of obtaining such additional information as would enable filling up certain lacunae which at present exist in our knowledge of the biology of the mackerel.
