Abstract

In 1968, the largest single discovery of oil and natural gas ever found on the North American continent was made at Prudhoe Bay on the North Slope of Alaska. The Prudhoe Bay field contains over 26 trillion cu ft of recoverable natural gas, or approximately 13% of the proven domestic gas reserves. The Alaska Natural Gas Transportation system, ANGTS, will bring this gas to the market in the lower 48 states.
