Abstract

In the interacting boson model including g bosons for the nuclei $^{20}\mathrm{Ne}$ and $^{24}\mathrm{Mg}$ and employing an interaction that interpolates the various dynamical symmetries in the model, spectra and E2 and E4 matrix elements are calculated. The results are in good agreement with data.
