Correlation of quality of work life and job satisfaction in nurses of Kerman University of Medical Sciences

Abstract

Introduction: Different factors affected the nursing job satisfaction. One of the most important factors is quality of nurses' work life. The aim of this study was to determine the correlation of quality of work life and job satisfaction in nurses of Kerman University of Medical Sciences. Materials and Methods: This study was descriptive -correctional one. This study was conducted on 266 nurses of Kerman University of Medical Sciences through simple random sampling. For data collecting the “Job Satisfaction” and “Quality of Nursing Work Life” questionnaires were used. Then after content validity and test - retest reliability were measured. For analyzing data the SPSS/16 was utilized. Findings: There was a significant positive correlation between job satisfaction of nurses and dimensions of quality of work life (P= 0.0001). In addition, nurses' quality of work life can predict a part of job satisfaction score. Conclusion: Considering the correlation between job satisfaction and nurses' quality of work life, promoting and improving of nurses' quality of work life thro ugh nurses and hospital managers can increase job satisfaction.
