Abstract

Parametric resonance in an inhomogeneous plasma is analyzed. Expressions are obtained for the threshold fields for apseriodic instabilities and for ion-acoustic instabilities. It is shown that the threshold for the exditation of periodic instabilities is much higher in a plasma with hot ions. (auth)
