Abstract

In this paper the Preisach model is used to simulate magnetic hysteresis. A Gaussian distribution is frequently applied as the distribution function of the model. The idea of using a Cauchy distribution to produce hysteresis loops is presented. The influence of each distribution parameter is shown. The calculated results are compared with the technical data of a sample. This study indicates that a Cauchy distribution can be applied favourably to simulate hysteresis loops.
