Abstract
New transportation systems representative of LRT (Light Rail Transit) are developing in cities around the world. When introducing LRT to a city center with high-density land use, the distribution of road space is very important because it can make cars, public transport, bicycles and pedestrians share the road resources in a good traffic environment.Therefore, we targeted 54 cities that introduced LRT in their city centers as the subject of study. With GIS and city maps, a database ofthe current state of LRT and the distribution of roads in these city centers can be built, and the connection between LRT, pedestrian zones, and trunk roads configuration in the central part of the city also be analyzed.
