Abstract

This thesis is primarily concerned with a test of the expansion hypothesis based on the relation Δtobs= (1+vr/c) Δtint where tint is the time lapse characterizing some phenomenon in a distant galaxy, Δtobs is the observed time lapse and vr is the symbolic velocity of recession.
