Abstract
This paper focuses on fast handoff idea concerning MIPv6 node roaming in WLAN. On purpose of realizing fast handoff, we got the idea of transmitting L3 handoff message with L2 information from “Mobile IPv6 Fast Handovers for 802.11 Networks” draft, furthermore, we endow the network with L3 handoff decision making authority, thus enabling L2, L3 handoff proceeding simultaneously. Handoff delay de-creases accordingly. The algorithm above has been simulated with OPNET.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
