On a obtenu des spectres UV de plusieurs etoiles λBoo et candidates λBoo. Il est possible de differencier les etoiles λBoo des etoiles A normales sur des spectres de faible resolution par leurs fortes caracteristiques d'absorption a λλ1600, 1657(CI), 1931(CI) et 3040 A
