Abstract
Professional preparation programs offered by colleges and universities should not mark the end of learning for the leisure service practitioner. With the knowledge explosion in the society, professionals must go beyond simply acquiring knowledge to new applications of the knowledge. This is possible through continuing education programs for leisure service professionals. This study assesses the continuing education needs of leisure service practitioners in the state of Wisconsin. The analyses provide information regarding similarities and differences among professionals employed in leisure service areas. Demographic characteristics, continuing education needs and interests, participation in continuing education, and attitudes toward continuing education of leisure service professionals are discussed.
